Ok, I typed this when I just got back from the event, though I needed some more days till actual pictures were online, so that’s why the delay, here we go:
tijn / 30/08/2004/11:15 AM
Ok, excuse me if I make any typos, or weird language, its 11:15 AM here, just got back from this Event, Here we go:
Right, I wasn’t supposed to go here, but someone asked me if I would like to go to the party at about 7 PM my time, the party started at 9 PM, so I thought... well... WHY NOT
So I met up with some people at about 8 PM to go from the trainstation and to the event itself, the only problem I had was that there werent any tickets left, so I had to buy a ticket at the door, though they COULD have been sold out, because lots of people actually came to the event, so I had to risk that.
Well the trip itself, was about 2,5 hours, with some major stop-ups at "Utrecht" which is in the center of Holland, I had to wait for some other friends to come to Utrecht, so we could all go to Rotterdam (where the party was ), spending almost 20 euros for the ticket to get there, with the risk that I might not even come inside, because there weren’t any tickets left
So on I went to Rotterdam, we were with about 10 people at that moment, I 1st had to take the metro line, about 7 stations till the exact point where the "transportbusses" (specially there to take u to the event) could take u to the destination of the party!
Well, in that bus some bloke told his girlfriend that he had a ticket left, so a friend of mine IMMEDIATLY asked if he wanted to sell it, he said ok!
So I bought the ticket for 35 euros, (normally they cost 46). (so my night was automaticly satisfied at this point
)
Well, the bus stopped, I had to show my ticket, it was all good, I was in... Some MAJOR lightning and tents were on the field, it was quite big, about 3 km in lengh! ... there were 7 area's ... Hardstyle,Hardtrance,Early Rave,Trance,Techno,Hardcore,Jumpstyle.

Well, sorry to say this, but I only spend like 10 minutes in both the hardtrance, and trance tent, cos mainly it was such a boring bpm to actually dance on.
Im normally very excited about trance, hardtrance when I listen to it at home, but when im on a party, I don’t know, the other styles catch me more, (perhaps because the tent was a lot bigger
)
I went straight on to the hardstyle area, where
Lady Tom was performing, MAN that was such a hotty with such great music, real hard and quite unfamiliar tracks, though very nice.
Later on
Max B Grant came on, damn he's nuts, he was scratching his ass off, doing a little backspin, and then he made a twist (himself) and scratched the other vinyl, another twist... and then he just laided himself on the vinyl, as if he were sleeping, so the vinyl stopped , but at about 10 sec he stood up again, and the beat was BANGING throughout the tent again, really nice stuff.
After that I saw
Marcel Woods, he was doing a nice job with Jesselyn - Tonka and of course Marcel Woods - Static Trance (Which I have on vinyl
).
After that I saw 2 germans on the stage, couldnt really tell who they were... oh wait...
COSMIC GATE of course... I didnt really pay attention to them though, I was off to the hardstyle again...
Where
Beholder & Ballistic were, they played a bit the same tunes, I already knew like Hardheadz - Wreck this place (Beholder remix) and their newest remix, Dj Rob - Boys interface (Beholder and Balistic Remix), I think the most of you (except for the die-hard dutch hardstyle fans) dont have any idea what those tunes sound like, but for those who do, u probs know that it kicks ass!
After that I saw
Dave 202, he was doing nicely, lol.. cant really say much about him really, only saw him for a few minutres, back to the hardstyle tent, (HEHE
), where Showtek was, LIVE!
he mixed tunes with samples he had with him, a very nice show, only took 30 minutes though, but he played all kinds of tunes I never heard, mixing and producing (!) it live! ... very nice!
At the end of
Showtek's set, I saw a friend from "Nijmegen" (another place in Holland
) he was a bit sick cos some hardcore hooligans had sprayed teargas in the hardcore tent, those kinda people always mess up a good party, very lame.
Anyways, I went outside with that friend, talked a bit about the regular normal day life, and so on, went to get some fries, another drink ... you know, the regular stuff... I heard
Signum play their new 2004 mix of First Strike, was very nice, though I only heared it outside walking to the FRIES stand, so couldnt really hear any more.
Coming at the fries stand, there was this hardcore tent like 20 meters away from it... MAN... that BASS ... and that BPM... SICK! It was like 160++ and so cool, though I decided not to go, cos at the hardcore area's there are people messing up a lot, searching for people to smack!
After that I went back to the Hardstyle Area, coming across the Trance area where
Above & Beyond were doing a set, from what I've heared it was their true class that spoke again through the speakers, I heard a really emotional trance tune, probs a new work by them, it was that same voice as in No One On Earth, and it was really nice and laidback, though you know me, At these kinda parties I dont really come to listen to trance, I wanna go for the bit harder music, so I went back to the hardstyle area where
Deepack was. At 1st when entering the tent, I heard Deepack vs Luna - Kick This Mutha, and later on I was in the front like 5 meters away from Deepack calling for this tune called "X2X" making up all kinds of ways to actually tell them to play that tune, cos it 0wns me... (Brooklynn Bounce - X2X (Deepack Remix))
The black dude of Deepack recognized what I was doing, and he said OK to me by doing a thumb up with his hand.
Later on this vinyl was on the wheels of steel, and MAN ... the BASS in that tune is just so hard, really cool to listen to...
After that
Danielle Mondello was on, he's my personal favorite, his mixing and scratching of tunes is something I have never seen before, he laid 2 tunes on the decks that were exacly the same, and scratched with them, doing another twist like Max B Grant did also, only he is a GOD at this, I heard no mistake whatsoever, he must have trained years to actually do such a thing... Class DJ!
After his set I was really exhausted, my legs were like.. “go home...”
though that was not the end at all... it was 6:00 AM already, the sun came up and that last 2 DJ's came on the decks,
Prophet vs Technoboy were playing a VS battle, a very nice set with tunes like Tuneboy - Sexbusters (Technoboy Remix), Age Of Reverse Bass, Beauty and the Beat, Wreck This Place, James Brown Is Dead, Some Remix Of "Hiphop dont stop come on make the beat drop hiphop dont stop come on y'all , TURN IT UP" and lots of others that were very nice... They actually went on till 7:30 AM though it had supposed to end at 7:00...
Well at this point the party was over, after that I was just sitting in the bus to go home, to make myself some crossaints
Anyways, I had a great time this night and I hope you can imagine what I must have felt like after this day was over ;-)
