Well, it's about that time of year again, and that means it's time for the return of the now annual tradition of the D:t top 50 show (if you count 3 as traditional!). Unlike a plethora of other shows, we won't be hacking and slashing the tracks up into a adrenaline fuelled megamix... we'll be playing all 50 tracks, in full, over the course of a mamoth 6 hours show.
On the afternoon of 27th December, we'll be taking over the http://www.party107.com airwaves for 6 hours - starting at 5pm and going on until about 11 oclock or so (12-6 for our overseas friends). Conveniently placed in that little void between crimbo and new year, we'll be mixing our picks of the year, 100% live and direct over the magic that is the internet for your enjoyment pleasure.
It should be a good laugh, as I dare say as beers will shared and fun will be had as we enjoy we we personally think has been a pretty wonderful year of trance. The scene is going through a lot of changes recently, but we feel that things are as storng as ever... you just need to look a little harder to find it. It should be a very interesting chart.

In previous years we've been joined live in the studio by anjunabeats legend Daniel Kandi, and top London DJ and producer Jurrane... and this year we'll plan to continue that tradition. 2008 saw the rise and rise of Perceptive Records, and has seen them establish themselves as one of the most consistent and exciting tance labels in the industry at the moment. This year we'll be joined by Luke Jennings, who alongside friend and colleague Nick Miller, are the all round bossed and head honcho of Perceptive Records.
Luke will be doing us a lovely Perceptive Records showcase guestmix, including a retrospective glance back at this years tunes, a few tasty morsels upcoming next year, a bunch of other tunes trown in for good measure too! It promices to make for excellent listening. Luke will also be joining us during the countdown.

And this is where you guys come in....
Between the 3 of us, we'll be compiling the list... but we'd like you guys to get involved as well. We're after your must have picks of the year.... your top 5 tunes that no chart should be without. What have you really enjoyed this year? Which tracks can't you stop listening to? Which tracks have really made you spine tingle? Which tracks have gotten the best reaction from crowds when played out? Which track(s) couldn't you have lived without?
You can send us your top 5 and we'll take them into consideration for the list. You never know, we might have missed a belter during the year, so here's your chance have your shout. Or, you might just feel that a particular track stands hands and shoulders above the rest... in which case this is you're chance to make that happen. There are many ways to get your votes to us over the course of the next month or so.... you can post you top 5 picks here in this very thread, you can pm them to myself (Halcyon), you can email them to me at "phil "at" showdowndjs "dot" com", you can post them on the anjunabeats forum thread. Easy peasy. Not sure when the cut off date will be just yet, but we won't spring it on you, so there's plenty of time.
