Brand new single from one of Scandinavias hottest trance DJs at the moment. Kris O'Neil has played alongside names like Paul van Dyk, Sander van Doorn and Solarstone. Just about a year ago Kris remixed Johan Gielen's "Physical Overdrive" which was also released on Tunes For You (Gielen's own imprint). In earlier projects Kris has worked with producers such as Stalker, Daniel Kandi, Niklas Harding and Cressida. This time he has teamed up with Josh Money whom is delivering the vocals for this release.

1. "Those Mornings" (original mix) 06:36
2. "Those Mornings" (original vocal mix) 06:36
3. "Those Mornings" (Rusty Beach Bar mix) 06:49
4. "Those Mornings" (Rusty Beach Bar vocal mix) 06:49
5. "Those Mornings" (radio edit) 04:11

Original Mix / Original Vocal Mix
The original version oozes of spring and summer. It sounds like something straight out of a In Search of Sunrise compilation with the lush summer tones and the brilliant percussion. As for the vocal; I think it comliments the track perfectly and this is probably one of the best tracks Josh has sung so far.

Rusty Beach Bar Mix / Rusty Beach Bar Vocal Mix
This version is slightly more 'heavy' with a driving bass and some techy sounds. The whole balearic feel has been toned down and the melody shines a bit more through, in this track. A version which would suit those club nights alot better.

Black Hole have been churning quality out lately and this is another winner. Not to miss!

17 year old Sindre has created quite an impression since bursting onto the scene last year. His debut 'Only When I Sleep' saw support across the board with top DJ's such as Armin calling it 'beautiful trance'.

Having teased us with a selection of superb remixes since, he now delivers his much anticipated follow up 'Essentia'. This time he up's the tempo and delivers a stunning and once again quite beautiful trancer with all the right elements and killer lead hook.

Remixes come from 3 more the nu-school, with Fast Distance, Michael Angelo and Andy Tau each turning out fantastic versions of the original.

Essential stuff ;-)

Estiva is no stranger to Enhanced. His debut single 'Stella' was heavily supported by all the major DJ's and featured on compilations such as Armin van Buuren's ASOT yearmix. His last offering on Enhanced 'Strawberry Fields' was crowned Tune of the Month in the world's biggest music magazine- Mixmag, and his recent collaboration with fellow Enhanced artist Marninx entitled 'Casa Grande' on found its way onto the massive In Search Of Sunrise series from Tiesto.

Later this spring, Estiva will show us what he is capable of behind the decks, when he teams up with Temple One to deliver us Enhanced Sessions Volume One - a new dj mix series from Enhanced artists.

He warms us up for this in classic Estiva style with his beautiful melodies and stunning overall production.

Every track packed with emotion, as with all Estiva EP's make it very hard to pick a favourite. First up, is Les Fleurs which optimises his style, gorgeous summer trance, you really could be forgiven for thinking you're on a beach when you hear this; stunning.

Fading Freedom picks up the pace but continues where Les Fleurs left off, and Estiva has crafted one of his superb Tech mixes that takes the track towards the business end of the night.

Finally and definitely not least is Like A Dream. A more chilled progressive outing from Estiva, however still encompassing all the elements that make this guy someone we are so fond of.

Good luck picking your favourite... this is brilliant stuff if we may say so ourselves!

Hokkaido is a collaboration between Invisible Sounds and Michael Witness who debut for the first time with the lush tones of Ange.

Confidence see's the threesome turn out an impressive laid back prog trancer, built around the soft, tender vocals of Ange, and deliver us both the original and progressive mixes.

Remix duties fall with Enhanced's MoodFreak and hot young Russian Mango, with his second remix on Enhanced.

MoodFreak turns out his best work to date; gloriously funky-housy-prog-trance (or whatever pigeon hole you want to stick it in!!) that pushes all the right buttons with some great touches throughout the rework.

Mango again demonstrates why he is one to look out for this year with a solid rendition in his own unique style.

A very hot all round package!

Sander van Doorn, Lange + more support!

Joni Ljungqvist is no stranger to Enhanced as he follows a string of superb remixes and originals on the label, and warms us up for his imminent return with Bakke under their Bakke & Joni guise; who were responsible for the huge 'Bali' release a couple of years ago.

Listening to this EP it is clear to hear how much Joni's production has come along; crisp, tight and packed full of the wonderful melodies and chords that has made him such a favourite of the trance scene and a staple in the musical diets of the likes of Armin van Buuren, Tiesto and Markus Schulz.

The title track, Lighthouses and Shorelines demonstrates what this young guy is all about; groovy melodic trance, but also sees him move towards a more uplifting take on his usual style. This is definitely a stand out track for any set, perfect to bridge the gap between progressive and uplifting trance and most importantly, set the dancefloor alight!

On the flip; although it can't really be called a b side, is the fantastic Linger; a track Will Holland used on his recent Digitally Enhanced Volume Two album.  From the off the track rolls and rolls, it's just impossible to ignore the groove, and added to that is a classic Ljungqvist hypnotic lead that sucks you in for the full 7 minutes!

A stand out release from JPL!

Polls and Reviews / Estiva - Les Fleurs EP *ASOT Support*
« on: March 09, 2009, 12:48:11 pm »

Joni Ljungqvist from Sweden is a producer with quite an impressive discography. He had his big breakthrough in 2005 when his People I Used To Know was featured on Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise 4. This was not his last appearance on this famous compilation series as he had a track featured on #5 and #7 as well. Joni is no stranger to Enhanced Recordings. He did a remix of Will Holland's Timeless and collaborated with Terje Bakke on the track Bali. The followup to Bali is also on its way. He is now debuting with a solo project on Enhanced and that would be under his JPL guise. First track is the title of this ep, Lighthouses and Shorelines. The second track is Linger which featured on Digitally Enhanced Volume 2.

My Review
The A-side aka Lighthouses & Shorelines reminds me of Joni's older LNQ productions. I simply love every single bit of this production. The unique kick resembles some of the punchiness that Airwave incorporates in his kick drums and it still has a more soft progressive oriented edge. The dreamy Joni pads, as we know them, are doing a fine job and the dreamy synths has that fantastic signature of his, without sounding used or already-tried-and-tested. The bpm-meter is only showing 130 and yet this is as uplifting as something running at 140. Uplifting, melodic, progressive, groovy and probably one of the best tunes I have heard this year.

Linger is a special track. Only Will Holland and Joni himself has played this before the release of the Digitally Enhanced Volume 2, where it was featured on. It is one of those tunes that sounds extremely simple but yet it holds some extraordinary qualities. It has a sweet groovy basslines, some crisp percussion and rolling melody backed up by some floaty pads.

Verdict
This is where I am supposed to both rate it and come up with some constructive feedback but honestly, I find that both productions are spot on. I really do not know if there is anything that should have been done differently. Both tunes are equally good and the release gets a 9/10. I will round things off by saying Joni Ljungqvist is back!!

Having seen support across the board including Tune of the week on Armin’s ASOT show, Enhanced decided to compliment Hydrogen with an extra set of remixes. This one is definately for all the uplifting fans out there;

The first remix is from Michael Angelo. A powerful piece of trance which is built well around the original version. Michael's interpretation offers a tight production without the raw edges one can sense in the original. Coming straight out of Belgium is megastar Ferry Tayle to finish things off. A more laidback approach this time but still keeping it uplifting and offering some incredible melodies.

Hodel & Hornblad - Hydrogen (Michael Angelo & Ferry Tayle Remixes) - Exclusives @ Audiojelly today!

Having seen fantastic support across the board in its Original, David Newsum and Sundriver form; the latter of which was named Tune of the Week on ASOT, Hodel & Hornblad's massive 'Hydrogen' is back with two colossal remixes!

First up is Michael Angelo with a remix that takes the track to thunderous heights. Just under eight minutes of brilliant power trance, as Michael dubs the lead and takes the track into 2009 in fine style.

Ferry Tayle delivers an equally fine mix with great crisp production and a more laid back approach than Michael; however this is still one remix destined for peak time action!

Coming out of Berlin, Germany, Enhanced Recordings presents Stefan Pietack, also known as MoodFreak and Modified Frequencies. Representing sublime melodic progressive house with a hint of electro, MoodFreak is making his full debut on Enhanced Progressive.

Enhanced welcomed this new talent by recently featuring no less than 4 productions on the critically acclaimed Digitally Enhanced Volume 2 compilation, which was hailed by Mixmag as ‘Compilation of the Month.’

Having already impressed with outstanding remixes of Sequentia’s single ‘Eclipse’ and Jan Johnston & Jussi Soro’s ‘Merge,’ the long awaited debut is finally here from this super-hot producer.

Far From You delivers an electro tinged bassline with the typical smooth, laid back MoodFreak production style and loaded with his gorgeous pads and melodies which should keep you warm during the winter season.

In Your Face is punchy and wonderfully groovy number with great choppy percussion and string stabs.

Mango steps of for the remix after being embraced by many fans of the progressive house genre in 2008 – an artist we really expect to have a well deserved break through in 2009. He delivers a brilliant mix of Far From You with great chord progression and still maintaining a raw electro edge to the track.
